Cypriote Favrile glass is characterized by an iridescent surface with an irregular "pock-marked" pattern. Louis C. Tiffany was fond of the glass created during ancient Egyptian times, which inspired the Tiffany glasshouse to produce glass which emulated the natural iridescence and dacayed surafce reminiscent of glass from Cyprus.
