Description

This lamp is one of two styles that complement the Abalone Desk Set.  The glass used in the shade is call "Favrile-Fabrique" or "Linenfold", and was cast to imitate the look of pleated fabric.  This type of pressed glass was used exclusively for lamp shades, and was developed at the Tiffany Studios Corona glass factory.  The shade is amber toned, twelve-sided, and abalone shells are inlaid as decorative elements on both the lamp base and shade.  The octagonal-shaped base has two sockets, the shade and perforated cap are made of gilt bronze.  Shade stamped: TIFFANY STUDIOS/NEW YORK/1928.  Base stamped: TIFFANY STUDIOS/NEW YORK/604. Height: 15". Diameter of Shade: 10".
